- The extent and boundaries of an audit, and the audit scope generally includes a description of the physical and virtual locations, functions, organizational units, activities and processes, as well as the time period covered. The scope of the audit is critical information in the audit programme that an organization sets up for a specific time frame. The audit scope for each audit can be aligned with the organization’s overall audit programme and objectives.
